You may apply for only one of the following Internal Grants during a given grant cycle: Pre-Tenure Grants Development Award, Provost's Post-Tenure Fellowship, or Scholarly Incentive Award. 


Internal Faculty Grants

Pre-Tenure Grants Development Award

Competitive $2,000 award for tenure track faculty in first five years of service at The College at Brockport. Final disbursement of funds after recipient's submission through Grants Development Office of an application for an external grant of at least $2500 (when possible) to fund scholarship or creative activity required for appointment, promotion and tenure. Managed by the Grants Development Office.

Pre-Tenure Grants Development Award Guidelines & Application

Provost's Post-Tenure Fellowship

Competitive award up to $3,500 for tenured faculty to fund eligible expenses for scholarship or creative activity in the discipline valued by the departmental APT document. Preference given to faculty not currently on or within a year of sabbatical. Managed by the Grants Development Office.

Provost's Post-Tenure Fellowship Guidelines & Application

Scholarly Incentive Award

Competitive award up to $1,000 for full-time faculty to fund eligible expenses for scholarship or creative activity required for appointment, promotion and tenure. Managed by the Grants Development Office.

Scholarly Incentive Award Guidelines & Application

This form is for those who are seeking approval for an extension or revision to the original, committee-reviewed application for Internal Grant awards (Provost's Post Tenure Fellowship, Pre Tenure Grant Development Award, and Scholarly Incentive Award) with currently active awards.

United University Professional (UUP) Grants

UUP Individual Development Award

Highly competitive grant up to $1,000 to support professional development activities during the calendar year. All UUP faculty and staff are eligible. Funded by UUP.

2017-18 APPLICATION Deadlines TBA. Program funding is dependent on contract renewal.

UUP Drescher Leave

Competitive full semester leave grant for assistant professors who have received at least one renewal at the College and belong to an underrepresented group with regard to ethnicity, race, gender, disability and/or veteran status. Funded by UUP and The College at Brockport.

2017-18 APPLICATION Deadlines TBA. Program funding is dependent on contract renewal.

UUP Professional Development Grant Program — New!

The Professional Development Grant Program is intended to fund a professional development project or activity to assist three or more employees to develop their professional potential and to prepare for advancement. Eligibility is similar to the Individual Development Awards Programs. Priority will be given to projects or activity that entail a cost of more than $1,000 per employee. Awards may not exceed $2,500 per employee and a total of $15,000 per application. A 40% campus contribution is required for this Program. UUP Professional Development Grant Program Information 


College-wide Grant Programs & Funding

Faculty Scholarship Account

Annual fund allocation to all full-time faculty to support scholarly and creative activities required for appointment, promotion and tenure. Managed by the school dean's office. Promoting Excellence in Diversity (PED) Grant

Competitive awards up to $1,500 to help fund campus programming open to wide audiences that support the College's goals in fostering diversity and inclusion. The deadlines for applications are: September 23, 2016; October 28, 2016; February 17, 2017; and April 7, 201. Administered by the Diversity Office. Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) Grant

Grants to attend specific conferences and to conduct campus workshops on learning and teaching. Sponsored by CELT.

Faculty/Staff Technology Grant

Competitive award up to $5000 for faculty and staff to purchase technology not readily available on campus to support an innovative initiative associated with teaching, research or program administration. Administered by the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. Please contact Debbie Lamphron for details. 

American Democracy Project Distingushed Speakers Series

Awards that help fund visiting speakers who contribute to intellectual exchange and civic engagement by members of the College community. Managed by the on-campus chapter of the American Democracy Project.

Joseph Makarewicz Faculty Research Development Fund for the School of Arts & Sciences

This award provides support for early and mid-career faculty in the Department of Biology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Environmental Science & Ecology, or Earth Sciences. Service Learning Grant

Awards up to $500 for faculty to support service learning initiatives in their courses. Administered by the Institute for Engaged Learning.
