700.03 Ordering Books

Faculty members should order books and other library materials well before the date needed for class use to allow time for processing the orders and preparing the items for circulation or reserve use. Drake Memorial Library accepts order requests through Web Banner. Use the tab named "Library Ordering Module." Should you wish to order an item for course reserve, please choose that option under "When this is available:". Once your order has been approved by both your Library Coordinator and the Liaison Librarian, it will display in the Library Catalog.

700.04 Reserve Materials

Faculty can link to on-line resources from library databases. If there is material that is not available on-line that needs to be scanned, faculty may fill out a scanning request form, and will receive a scanned PDF via email to upload to the Blackboard page for that course. Please note that copyright guidelines must be followed; for more information, please see “copyright” on the Drake Library website.

700.05 Circulation

In order to check out library materials, each faculty member is required to have an ID card. (In emergencies, the Library will issue a temporary ID card for a nominal fee of $2.00, non-refundable.) Faculty, staff, and graduate assistants are accorded a year loan period running from May to May. However, materials should be returned when no longer needed. Library materials are subject to immediate recall if needed for the Reserve Desk or, after two weeks if needed by another reader. For assistance or information, please call the Circulation Desk at 395-2277.
