I joined the professional staff in Library, Information, and Technology Services at Brockport in April 2009.
I currently serve as Interim Manager of Web Services, administering the web content management system, maintaining numerous web-based applications, supervising the Web Services student staff, as well as promoting web accessibility awareness, including a session offered during Web Training Week.
I also work in Identity Management, helping to provision users with accounts and access to services, and providing advanced support for users of the Exchange email and calendaring service.
However, my foremost role at Brockport currently is as co-leader of MoTeK, the College's Mobile Technology team. A multi-function unit comprising professional staff and students, MoTeK provides support and outreach in all aspects of mobile technology to the campus community, and is working hard to stay ahead of the curve on new workflows, apps, and mobile devices. Current projects include the iPad User's Group (iPUG), and the Eagle Run shuttle bus live tracking system, among many others.
I advocate and provide support for for Macintosh and iOS technologies at the college and elsewhere.
I am a member of HighEdWeb, and have presented on Brockport's mobile technology initiatives at the Western NY Mobile Device User/Developer Alliance and the ITEC Fall Wizard Conference, with more presentations planned for 2014, including the SUNY Technology Conference.
In real life, I am a musician, composer, and conductor, with special interest and experience in jazz, blues, choral, and church music. I have performed with numerous jazz and blues ensembles in western New York for over 20 years. My music website provides more information.
